Biography[]
Jason Butler Harner grew up in Northern Virginia, and acted as the president of his high school drama club, though his main occupation was building the sets. Harner graduated in 1992 from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in acting. Five years later, he graduated from Tisch School of the Arts with a Master of Fine Arts in the acting program. He returned to VCU as a Master Teacher in the 2007-08 school year.
Following his portrayal of Gordon Stewart Northcott in Clint Eastwood's Changeling alongside Angelina Jolie in 2008, Harner appeared in HBO's John Adams in 2008 alongside Paul Giamatti, and appeared in the pilot of Fox's Fringe, another creation of J.J. Abrams. In 2011, he appeared in Jonathan Hensleigh's Kill the Irishman.
