Jorge Garcia portrays Diego Soto. He is best known for his portrayal of Hugo "Hurley" Reyes on all six seasons of Lost.
Biography[]
Garcia is of of Cuban and Chilean descent. Before embarking on his acting career, he performed as a stand-up comedian. In 2001, he appeared as a taxi driver on Michael J. Fox's sitcom Spin City, and starred as bartender Hector Lopez on Becker for 13 episodes.
Garcia guest starred as a drug dealer on Larry David's Curb Your Enthusiasm in a 2004 episode, a role that supposedly landed him the role of Hugo "Hurley" Reyes on Lost. He was the first actor to be cast on Lost, for which he is best known. Garcia starred on the show for all of its six seasons, during which he resided in Honolulu, Hawaii, with his girlfriend Bethany Shady and his dachshund-Chihuahua mix Nunu. After the end of the show, Garcia returned to Los Angeles, where he was cast by Lost's creator J.J. Abrams on his new show, Alcatraz.
After the end of Lost, the American rock band Weezer released their eighth studio album titled Hurley, titled after Garcia's beloved character and featured only his face on the cover.
